Karan (), an aspiring cartoonist, and Rhea () met on a plane, then on a train, and in numerous other places in between, at different stages of their lives.
Their journey from their first encounter, when they were young with a thirst for experience, versus when they met at a later period, when life had well and truly happened, was not necessarily path-breaking. Still, it was everything for those who love watching the cocky boy with not an ounce of commitment inside him fall for the stubborn woman trying to build a life on her terms.
Brilliant performances by the ever-entertaining Kirron Kher as Bobby, Rhea’s mom, and as Arjun, Karan’s dad, made this movie a family entertainer that may just make you cry happy tears.
Salaam Namaste (2005)
Live-in relationships were a hush-hush topic in 2005. And then Salaam Namaste came out. Nikhil (Saif Ali Khan) and Ambar () meet when Ambar has to interview Nikhil on her radio show. That triggers a relationship that starts with utter hate because Ambar dislikes Nikhil’s attitude. This enemies-turned-lovers trope is turned on its head when they start living together without discussing where their relationship will go until Ambar gets pregnant.
