A day in the past, after the discharge of the primary track ‘Ishq Mitaye’, the second track ‘Naram Kaalja’ was launched. The track is a tongue-in-cheek celebration of Chamkila’s reputation amongst girls viewers! With music by the maestro AR Rahman, and lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil, the track has been sung by Alka Yagnik, Richa Sharma, Pooja Tiwari, and Yashika Sikka.
It offers an expression to the unbridled “female gaze” showcasing the fan frenzy that Chamkila’s music created amongst girls of all ages. Such was his craze amongst them that they might throng the terraces of the homes round his Akhadaas (stay music performances in villages) in droves and at occasions their numbers could be so excessive that the roofs would collapse, a proven fact that earned Chamkila the title – Kotha Dhau Kalakaar (the Roof Breaker)!!
