It was in 2011 when Vanessa filed for a split from her husband, Kobe, citing irreconcilable differences. While on one hand, rumours swirled about Kobe’s infidelity, another gossip was that Vanessa had started dating WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz.

That’d be a — that’s a cool rumour.’ But it’s not. Nowhere is it true. Nowhere near it. I don’t know who started it. And I’m not even a Laker fan, so, yeah.”
For the unversed, after two years of filing for divorce, Vanessa, along with Kobe, announced their reconciliation. Vanessa had been by Kobe’s side through thick and thin. In his documentary, Kobe acknowledged the strength of his and Vanessa’s bond, stating that it was very different for him to have somebody so close to him. He said:
“For me, it was very different to have somebody that I was so close to, because I had been so used to growing up in isolation, really.”
