Bollywood’s ‘It’ girl, Deepika Padukone, just proved her mettle, shutting down gossipmongers with her latest achievement as an international star. The actress made a remarkable breakthrough not just in her personal career but also for India, as she represented Indian talent on the global stage. Deepika became the first Indian to be honoured with a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. A landmark moment for Indian cinema and global representation, Deepika joined some of the biggest names in international entertainment to earn the star for the Class of 2026.
Deepika Padukone joins international stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame for the Class of 2026
During a live press conference from Ovation Hollywood, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce officially announced its Class of 2026, placing Deepika Padukone in the company of some of the biggest names in international entertainment, including Timothée Chalamet, Miley Cyrus, Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, and Demi Moore. The selection was made from hundreds of global nominations on June 20, 2025, following which, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors approved it.
On June 25, 2025, the Chamber’s board of directors ratified the selection of names for 2026. Announcing the names at the unveiling of the Class of 2026, Peter Roth, ex-CEO of Warner Bros Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee, said:
“We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined on the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026. These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honour them with this well-deserved recognition.”

Deepika Padukone’s recognition as a global star and cultural icon
Deepika has become a known name in the overseas film industry as she paved her way in both Bollywood and Hollywood. The actress made her international debut in 2017, starring opposite Vin Diesel in the film xXx: Return of Xander Cage. She has since walked red carpets at Cannes and the Met Gala, and is also the first Indian to become the global face of Louis Vuitton and Cartier.

In 2018, Deepika Padukone clinched a place among TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people. She was later honoured with the TIME100 Impact Award for contributing to advocating for mental health through her LiveLoveLaugh Foundation. In 2022, Deepika added another jewel to her crown, making headlines by unveiling the FIFA World Cup trophy during the final in Qatar. On the work front, Deepika Padukone is set to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in his next project, King, which is slated for a 2026 release. After exiting Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, Deepika was announced a part of Atlee’s high-concept sci-fi film, AA22xA6, alongside Allu Arjun. She also recently launched the Padukone School of Badminton in collaboration with her father, badminton legend Prakash Padukone, an organisation that mentors the next generation of athletes.
