Jasprit Bumrah wanted to move to Canada and start a new life
However, not many know that there was a point in Jasprit Bumrah’s life when he wanted to move to Canada for better opportunities. Then, he joined the Mumbai Indians, and the rest is history. In the latest interaction, the fast bowler’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, asked him about the reports of him wanting to move abroad and said:
“You wanted to go to Canada and set up a new life there?”

Jasprit Bumrah shares his backup plan in life
Talking about the same, Jasprit Bumrah revealed that every boy wants to play cricket and make it big. However, there is a lot of competition so one needs to have a backup plan. He added that his relatives lived in Canada, so he thought of moving there with his family after completing his education, but his mother was reluctant to do so. In Jasprit’s words:
“We have had these conversations before. Every boy wants to make it big and play cricket. Every street has 25 players who want to play for India. You have to have a backup plan. Our relative lives there. I thought I would finish my education, and…my uncle lives there. First, we thought we would go as a family, then my mum did not want to go there as it’s a different culture.”
Speaking along the same lines, Jasprit Bumrah shared that he feels very happy and very lucky that things worked out for him. He also mentioned that he would have tried to play for the Canadian cricket team and earn his living by doing other jobs also. The cricketer added:
“I am very happy and very lucky that things worked out, Otherwise I don’t know I would have tried to play for the Canadian team and do something there as well. Glad it worked out here. I am playing for the Indian team and Mumbai Indians.”

It was back on March 15, 2021, when Jasprit Bumrah had a hush-hush wedding with the love of his life, Sanjana Ganesan. Jasprit and Sanjana opted for pink colour-coordinated ensembles on their D-day and stole our hearts with their adorable camaraderie. After more than two years of marital bliss, the duo embraced parenthood for the first time in their lives. It was on September 4, 2023, when Jasprit and Sanjana announced the birth of their first child, Angad.
