Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to address the Lok Sabha Wednesday during the ongoing Budget session. But the Lower House was adjourned till 11am Thursday amid ruckus. The PM is now expected to deliver his speech on the Motion of Thanks to the President Thursday (5 February).
This will be the PM’s first speech in Parliament since Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi cited excerpts from former Army chief General M.M. Naravane’s unpublished book to criticise the government’s handling of the border standoff with China.
This was followed by continued disruption in both Houses, with the Opposition and the Treasury benches exchanging barbs.
