Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has received a warm early birthday message from his former father-in-law, veteran actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan, underscoring the enduring respect between the families and the amicable nature of his separation from ex-wife Sussanne Khan. The message arrives on the eve of Hrithik’s 52nd birthday, which falls on January 10.

Taking to Instagram, Sanjay Khan shared a personal note that traced his connection with Hrithik back to their first meeting when the actor was a teenager. Reflecting on those early memories, Sanjay wrote about a casual conversation about bicycles that led to an appreciation of Hrithik’s focused and respectful attitude, long before he became a household name.
In the heartfelt post, Sanjay also addressed Hrithik’s relationship with his daughter Sussanne, remarking on the tone and nature of their separation. “Their separation was graceful, never bitter,” he said, adding with a touch of humour that he often tells friends his daughter “gifted Hrithik two aces of spades” referring to their sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan.
Sanjay’s note closed with a birthday wish filled with goodwill: “On January 10th, as millions celebrate, I wish Hrithik a birthday brimming with health, peace, joy, and prosperity. Happy Birthday, Hrithik. I love you, son.”
Hrithik and Sussanne were married in 2000 and later divorced in 2014, concluding a 14-year marriage. Since then, they have maintained a cordial relationship and continue to co-parent their children. The actor also shares a close bond with other members of Sussanne’s family, and in the past has publicly honoured them on milestones such as birthdays.
