Huma Qureshi has shared a rare but telling reaction to Rocking Star Yash’s much-anticipated next, Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups, and her words are already fuelling massive curiosity around the project. The actor opened up about the film during her appearance at the recently held Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest 2025, where she was asked about her experience of working with Yash.

While Huma remained deliberately guarded, clearly respecting the makers’ strategy around the film’s publicity, she dropped a statement that has set expectations soaring. With a knowing smile, the actor made it clear that Toxic is a project that demands to be unveiled on its own terms, given its scale and ambition.

“You know I can’t talk about it right now,” Huma said, carefully. “Also, it’s very unfair for anybody to talk about such a big film because I think the film itself deserves a kind of rollout and a presentation that the makers have planned.” However, even within those constraints, Huma could not hide her excitement. She added, “Having said that, I think it’s going to be India’s biggest film. And it’s going to blow people away. I’m just saying this as a fan.”

Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups marks Rocking Star Yash’s first theatrical release after the unprecedented success of the KGF franchise. Naturally, expectations around the project are sky-high, with the film already being positioned as a large-scale, globally mounted Indian production rather than a conventional star-driven outing.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the upcoming period gangster film represents a significant shift in scale and genre for the filmmaker, who is widely acclaimed for her emotionally layered and internationally recognised storytelling. With Toxic, Mohandas steps into a darker, more expansive cinematic space, blending period drama with gangster elements on an ambitious canvas. The film features a strong ensemble cast led by Yash and includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair in key roles.

The film is jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under their respective banners, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi is responsible for crafting the film’s dialogues, while Ravi Basrur is composing the background score, expected to enhance the film’s darker and more immersive tone. Reports also suggest that Anirudh Ravichander may be on board to compose the songs. Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, Toxic is slated for a multilingual release in six languages on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the Ugadi festive period, and is already being closely watched as one of the most ambitious Indian films on the horizon.
