Director Siddharth Anand has humorously addressed online comparisons between Shah Rukh Khan’s look in the upcoming action thriller King and Brad Pitt’s styling in the Hollywood blockbuster F1: The Movie. The debate sparked on social media soon after the King title reveal promo, focusing on a particular look where Shah Rukh sports a blue denim shirt with a dark beige jacket—similar to Brad Pitt’s outfit from F1.

Anand, who has previously had his films compared to Hollywood productions, took the jabs in stride. On Twitter, he responded to a user who dubbed the comparisons as “funny logic by haters,” writing with laughing emojis.
Fans swiftly defended Shah Rukh Khan, sharing images of the superstar’s earlier look from Imtiaz Ali’s 2017 rom-com Jab Harry Met Sejal. They noted that if King’s look resembled F1’s styling, then Brad Pitt’s film might have borrowed from Shah Rukh’s 2017 appearance, turning the narrative on its head.

This incident is not the first time Siddharth Anand’s films faced comparisons with Hollywood titles. His 2024 aerial action entertainer Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, was frequently likened to the Top Gun franchise. Anand defended Fighter’s modest box office showing by pointing out that Indian audiences are still getting accustomed to fighter planes and aerial combat genres.
Even Pathaan, a blockbuster spy thriller from a few years ago, met social media controversies over the orange bikini worn by Deepika Padukone in the song ‘Besharam Rang,’ with trolls misinterpreting the color saffron.
Adding to the buzz, Deepika Padukone, the leading lady of King, recently shared a heartwarming post from the film’s sets, praising Shah Rukh Khan for making working together enjoyable and comfortable—marking their sixth collaboration.
