The upcoming collaboration of Jr NTR with filmmaker Prashanth Neel has been one of the most eagerly awaited projects among fans. Tentatively titled NTRNeel, the film is currently in production and is being crafted as a high-octane action entertainer. With Prashanth Neel at the helm – known for directing the KGF franchise and Salaar—expectations are high for a mass-heavy cinematic experience.
NTRNeel: Jr NTR, Prashanth Neel filmmakers hold back update on NTR’s birthday; say, “The spotlight will remain on War 2”
As NTR’s birthday approaches on May 20, fans were anticipating a major update from the NTRNeel team. However, the makers have announced that no new content from the film will be released on that date. Instead, the spotlight will remain on War 2, another much-awaited project featuring NTR.
In a statement shared on social media, the makers wrote: “We know how eager you are to celebrate the man who’s given us countless reasons to cheer… With the release of the War 2 content, we felt it’s best to let it have its moment — and save the #NTRNeel MASS MISSILE glimpse for a little later. This year, we’re fully dedicating the birthday celebrations of the Man of Masses, NTR, to #War2.” The team also confirmed that a special update from NTRNeel will be unveiled on an auspicious occasion in the near future.
Talking about the yet to be titled NTRNeel, it is an action drama that is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 25, 2026. It will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, ensuring a wide audience reach across India.
Backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, the film is produced by Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and Hari Krishna Kosaraju. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, and T-Series Films. Cinematography for the film is being handled by Bhuvan Gowda, while music is composed by Ravi Basrur. Production design is led by Chalapathi.
The makers have not yet revealed details about the rest of the cast, but with NTR in the lead and Prashanth Neel directing, NTRNeel is expected to be a major release in the coming year, combining large-scale action with a compelling storyline. Meanwhile, War 2 marks the Bollywood debut of Jr NTR and it will feature Hrithik Roshan as Agent Kabir along with Kiara Advani as the leading lady. It is slated to release on August 14, 2025.
