Marvel Studios has dropped the final trailer for Thunderbolts, the much-anticipated film that marks the closing chapter of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Featuring a powerhouse ensemble cast and high-stakes action, the film is set to hit Indian cinemas on May 1, a day ahead of its U.S. release.
Thunderbolts Final Trailer: Marvel’s anti-hero team gears up for one last shot at redemption
Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts features Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Newcomers Lewis Pullman, portraying “Bob,” Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, and Wendell Edward Pierce also join the ensemble cast.
The narrative follows this unconventional group as they are coerced into a perilous mission orchestrated by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Each member must confront their past demons while navigating the complexities of their forced alliance.
The trailer reveals that Lewis Pullman’s character, Bob, is actually the Void, the dark alter-ego of the immensely powerful superhero Sentry. In the comics, Sentry’s powers rival those of the strongest Avengers, but his alter-ego, the Void, represents his darker impulses. Valentina assembles the Thunderbolts to confront this formidable threat, emphasizing the gravity of their mission.
The screenplay is penned by Eric Pearson, Joanna Calo, and Lee Sung Jin. The film’s score is composed by Son Lux, known for their work on Everything Everywhere All at Once. Cinematography is handled by Andrew Droz Palermo, with editing by Angela Catanzaro and Harry Yoon. Filming took place across various locations, including Atlanta, Utah, and Kuala Lumpur.
Thunderbolts is set to premiere in India on May 1 and in the United States on May 2, 2025, and will be available in multiple formats, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, ScreenX, and 4DX. In India, the film will also be released in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu, catering to a diverse global audience.
