Raid 2 is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, and the much-awaited film will be released in theatres on May 1, 2025. The crime thriller is the sequel to the 2018 film, Raid, which was among the highest-grossing films of that year. Made with a budget of just Rs. 40 crores, Raid collected around Rs. 153.62 crores at the box office, becoming one of the most profitable films of Ajay Devgn’s illustrious career.
Now, after a gap of six long years, Raj Kumar Gupta is finally here with Raid 2, and the anticipation for the film is at an all-time high. Although the film was announced back in April 2020, but due to a series of reasons, it got delayed a couple of times, and finally, the filming started in 2024.

The makers of the film dropped its trailer on April 8, 2025, and cinephiles were on their toes throughout the video for 2 minutes and 34 seconds. People loved Ajay Devgn reprising his iconic character, ‘IRS Officer, Amay Patnaik’, but what caught everyone’s attention was the introduction of Riteish Deshmukh’s character in the film.
Riteish Deshmukh looked mesmerising in the role of the film’s antagonist named ‘Dada Manohar Bhai’, and simply stole the show. Apart from these two, Raid 2 also features stars like Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Amit Sial, Supriya Pathak, and many more. The film’s story is penned by a group of talented writers like Ritesh Shah, Raj Kumar Gupta, Jaideep Yadav, and Karan Vyas. Regarding the film’s budget, Raid is made up of Rs. 40 crore.
Raid 2: Here’s How much fee Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh charge for their roles in the sequel
According to multiple media reports, the film producers paid a whopping sum of Rs. 20 crore to Ajay Devgn for playing his character, ‘Amay Patnaik’. What’s interesting is that the producers paid Rs. 4 crores to Riteish Deshmukh, who plays the film’s antagonist, ‘Dada Manohar Bhai’. Ajay Devgn is paid four times more than Riteish. Not only this, the film’s female lead, Vaani Kapoor, paid just Rs. 1 crore for the film. For the uninitiated, Vaani replaced Illeana D’Cruz, who played Ajay Devgn’s wife in the prequel. Vaani is paid nineteen times less than Ajay Devgn’s fee for the film.
The film is all set to release on International Labour Day, which is on May 1. For the uninitiated, Raid 2 suffered a series of roadblocks in the way of its release. From scheduling conflicts to multiple delays in post-production, Raid 2 was originally scheduled to be released on November 15, 2024. After many delays, the film will finally land in theatres on May 1, and market researchers have already predicted that the film will make a mark at the box office.
