Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has firmly denied any involvement in a Rs 2.4 crores cryptocurrency fraud case after reports suggested that she might be summoned by the Puducherry Police. Addressing the claims, Tamannaah called them “fake and misleading” and assured that legal action would be taken against the spread of such false reports.

The controversy began on February 28, when multiple media outlets reported that both Tamannaah and actress Kajal Aggarwal were allegedly linked to a cryptocurrency investment scheme under investigation. However, no official confirmation has been provided by the authorities regarding their involvement.
Tamannaah’s Official Statement on the Issue
In response to these allegations, Tamannaah issued a media statement dismissing the rumors. She said, “It has come to my attention that rumours are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealing with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in the media not to circulate any such fake, misleading, and false reports and rumours.”
She further assured that her team is taking necessary steps, stating, “In the meantime, my team is looking into the same to initiate appropriate action.”
Details of the Alleged Cryptocurrency Fraud
According to a report by 123 Telugu, the case originated from a complaint filed by ex-soldier Ashokan from Moolakulam, Puducherry. He alleged that he was defrauded in a cryptocurrency investment scheme operated by a Coimbatore-based firm established in 2022. Ashokan claimed that he invested Rs 1 crore in the scheme and encouraged ten of his friends to invest a total of Rs 2.4 crores.
Reports indicate that Ashokan attended the launch event of the company, where Tamannaah was present. Another event held in Mahabalipuram, where Kajal Aggarwal was the chief guest, reportedly saw luxury cars worth Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore being gifted to over 100 investors.
Police Investigation and Ongoing Developments
Authorities are reportedly seeking clarification from both Tamannaah and Kajal to ascertain whether they were merely endorsing the company’s events or had any financial ties to the fraudulent scheme. As of now, Kajal Aggarwal has not issued a statement regarding the matter.
