Salman Khan explained the reason he never eats beef or pork
A clip from the 2017 interview resurfaced on the internet, showing a candid interaction between Salman Khan and Aap Ki Adaalat host, Rajat Sharma. At one point during the interview, Salman Khan was asked about his diet, to which he casually responded, “Everything. I just don’t eat beef and pork.” When prodded further, he explained the reason behind this choice. He was heard saying:
“Gaay hamari bhi maata hai. Main maanta hu meri maa hai woh kyunki meri khudki maa Hindu hai. Mere pita Muslim hain. Meri dusri maa Helen Christian hai… Hum poora Hindustaan hai.”
Salman Khan comes from a family with multiple religions. Salman’s father, Salim Khan, is Muslim, his mother, Salma Khan (formerly Sushila Charak), is Hindu, and his stepmother, Helen, is Christian. This is one of the reasons that the actor and his siblings have always embraced a secular upbringing.
