The spotlight shifts in the fourth season of Bridgerton to the enigmatic and artistic Benedict Bridgerton. On July 23, Netflix officially announced that Bridgerton season 4 will be led by Luke Thompson who plays the role of second brother on the period drama.

As per the novel “An Offer from a Gentleman”, Benedict Bridgerton, the second eldest Bridgerton sibling, is known for his artistic flair and charming demeanour. Unlike his eldest brother Anthony, who is the epitome of the stoic and responsible eldest son, Benedict is more free-spirited and drawn to the world of art and creativity. A key aspect of Benedict’s character is his search for genuine connection. While often seen as the quintessential playboy, he yearns for a deep and meaningful relationship. This internal conflict between his playful exterior and his longing for love is a central theme in his story.
His love interest, Sophie Beckett, is a young woman with a mysterious past who captures Benedict’s heart. Their relationship is marked by a Cinderella-esque quality, with Benedict searching for his “mystery woman” after a chance encounter at a masquerade ball. Sophie’s resilience and independence challenge Benedict’s preconceived notions about love and relationships.
The novel delves into Benedict’s journey of self-discovery as he navigates the complexities of love, societal expectations, and his own artistic aspirations. It’s a tale of growth and transformation for both Benedict and Sophie, as they overcome obstacles to find their happily ever after.
The first season was led by Phoebe Dynevor and Rege Jean Page, followed by Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley as leads in the second season and Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan as the leads in the third season.
As per several reports, the shoot will commence in September 2024 and season 4 may release in 2026.
