With the release date nearing, the anticipation for Indian 2 has been quite on the rise, especially considering that megastar Kamal Haasan will return in his ‘Senapathy’ avatar in this vigilante drama. Joining him will be Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, and Kajal Aggarwal playing leads in this sequel to the 90s entertainer. Rakul, who was excited to work with the team comprising of such stalwarts and popular stars, expressed her happiness on collaborating with director S Shankar.

While Indian 2 sees Rakul sharing screen space with the legendary Kamal Haasan, it will also witness her collaboration with the remarkable filmmaker Shankar for the first time. Talking about her experience of working with Shankar, Rakul says, “It’s a privilege to be working with such a remarkable filmmaker, who is a legend in himself. He’s such an amazing director. The way he looks at characters, his vision, and the nuances he adds with his guidance on the set. I’ve learned so much from him while filming Indian 2. Truly an experience!”
About Indian 2
This sequel to the 1996 drama Indian/Hindustani, is all set to mark its return in 2024 with Senapathy on a new mission to expose more corruption, but this time, he is expected to venture outside the country to help a fellow, albeit young vigilante played by Siddharth. While Rakul Preet Singh plays the love interest of Siddharth along with Kajal Aggarwal in a key role, other actors in the film include S J Suryah, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, among many others. The film is slated for release on July 12 in multiple languages including Hindi.

Speaking of her other projects, Rakul Preet Singh, who is newly married to longtime boyfriend Jackky Bhagnani, also has Meri Patni Ka Remake with Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in the pipeline. Also, the sequel to her 2019 film with Ajay Devgn, De De Pyaar De 2 was announced recently.
