Shaitaan starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyothika and Janki Bodiwala in lead roles has crossed Rs 200 crore mark at the box office. The film directed by Vikas Bahl is a suspense thriller about a father who struggles to rescue his daughter from evil.
Madhavan who plays the antagonist in the film is appreciated by the audience for his stellar performance in Shaitaan. Talking about Madhavan, trade analyst Akshaye Rathie said, “What Maddy has done with Shaitaan becomes very exciting because you are measuring it against his last theatrical release Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2019). So, to go from the affable, the very kind Nambi Narayan in his late 70s and 80s to Vanraj – shows the versatility of a true-blue phenomenal actor. Every genre you can imagine he has done, and each part with elan. That’s what makes him one of the most exciting talents we have.”
The actor, who rose to fame as Maddy with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001), impressed audience as Farhan Qureshi in 3 Idiots (2009) and became the highlight of Rang De Basanti (2006) with his extended cameo role, scared the audience to death with his role in Shaitaan, and delivered a hit that has crossed Rs 200 crore mark at the box office.
The actor’s upcoming projects include Adhirshtasaali and Test in Tamil, and The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair in Hindi.
