Hardik Pandya, with his brother, Krunal Pandya, once appeared in a fun interview session with Vikram Sathaye on WTD, where the former revealed that he is utterly disappointed to know that the ‘man of the match’ prize money gets divided among the team. Hardik added that when he started playing for MI, his contract was for INR 10 lakh, but by the end of the season, he won the ‘man of the watch’ awards and the ‘super striker’ title. For which he got an additional two lakh as a reward.

Upon winning these prize money rewards, Hardik was very happy and shared his excitement with Harbhajan Singh, who laughed on his face. Later, Nita Ambani broke the news to him that all these prize money rewards were distributed among all the team members. Hardik was utterly disappointed with the news as he planned to shop with all that extra money.

On April 1, 2024, Mumbai Indians played against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Here, all MI fans started booing Hardik Pandya, and this continued all through the match. Former captain Rohit Sharma then came in support of Hardik and gestured the crowd to slow down and stop mocking Hardik.
