Imtiaz Ali’s newest directorial Chamkila will premiere on Netflix from April 12.
The movie charts the true story of Punjab’s unique rockstar of the plenty, the best record-selling artist of his time, Amar Singh Chamkila, also known as the ‘Elvis Presley of Punjab’.
Shot on actual places, the movie guarantees to move the audiences to the colourful and rhythmic world of Punjab’s people music.

The movie additionally stars Parineeti Chopra as Amarjot Kaur, Chamkila’s spouse and singing companion.
A R Rahman scores the music for the movie and Irshad Kamil pens the lyrics. Diljit and Parineeti have lent their voices to among the songs.

Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur have been murdered on March 8, 1988. Their killers have been by no means discovered. Chamkila was solely 27 years previous.
