Aishwarya Rajinikanth made her comeback as a filmmaker with Lal Salaam, an motion drama set towards the backdrop of cricket. In an interview with Cinemavikattan, Aishwarya Rajinikanth asserted that it brought about as a result of sure ‘irresponsibility’ and elaborated on the incident as she stated, “It is true that we misplaced a whole lot of footage. We had been shocked that one thing like this might even occur. It was about 21 days of footage. I ought to say it occurred due to irresponsibility, which was unlucky. We had shot a cricket match, and it was a ten-camera set-up. We wished to shoot it prefer it was an actual cricket match. We missed the footage of all of the twenty cameras. We didn’t know what to do.”
She also went on to explain the challenges of reshooting the portion and added, “The problem was everyone including Vishnu, Senthil, and Appa also changed their get-up. So, we couldn’t reshoot it. In the end, we re-edited the film with whatever was left. It was challenging. Though Vishnu and Appa were cooperative and ready to do it again, we couldn’t shoot all of it again. It was a huge compromise.”
Along with Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, Lal Salaam also featured an ensemble cast including Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, K. S. Ravikumar and Thambi Ramaiah, whereas Rajinikanth essayed the role of Vikranth’s character Shamsuddin’s father Mohideen Bhai. Produced under the banner Lyca Productions, the film released on February 9.
