The Critics’ Choice Awards 2024 has unveiled its grand sixth version and arranged by Film Critics Guild and Group M Motion Entertainment in collaboration with Vistas Media Capital. To kick off the occasion, Poulomi Das, a outstanding member of the Film Critics’ Guild, facilitated a fascinating roundtable dialogue with esteemed CCA 2024 nominees, together with luminaries comparable to Konkona Sen Sharma, Reema Maya, Manish Saini, Rajshri Deshpande, and Barun Sobti.

Barun Sobti, nominated for Best Supporting Actor within the internet collection Kohrra, shared his perspective on delving deep into a personality’s intricate particulars, saying, “Even after wrapping up a show, I often find myself still wrestling with the character’s essence. It’s like, did I really get under their skin? Sometimes, it feels like I’m close, but it doesn’t quite sync up with those around me. The thing is, with series and multiple seasons, we’re blessed with more time to really dig into a character’s nuances. Nowadays, actors tend to overthink their roles, but truth be told, you only truly understand a character once you’ve lived and breathed them on screen.”
This prestigious event celebrated excellence across 24 diverse categories, spanning feature films, short films, and web series. Embracing the rich tapestry of talent from across the nation, these nominations honor the best and brightest in the industry, transcending language barriers and platform boundaries.
On the other hand, speaking of Barun Sobti, the actor kicked off his acting career with the television industry in 2009 and is best known for shows like Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (with Sanaya Irani), and Baat Hamari Pakki Hai (Ankita Sharma). He made his name in the web-space with shows like Tanhaiyaan, Asur, Badtameez Dil, including Kohrra. He is currently working on shows like Donali, Bawandar, and Raat Jawan Hai. Barun has also made his film debut with Main Aur Mr. Right in 2014.
As for Kohrra, the show featured Barun in the role of a cop investigating the death of a bridegroom, belonging to a powerful family. The web-series is currently streaming on Netflix.
